One of the first luminaires designed by Verner Panton was the Moon pendant chandelier, with which the design icon launched a completely new creative style. What came from the pen of Verner Panton has always gone beyond what was previously known. His creations were not only intended to complement interior decor, but to serve as elegant, spacious and central sculptures. The international enthusiasm that the Moon pendant luminaire continues to enjoy today demonstrates the particularity of the product. Ten white lacquered aluminum slats overlapping one another form the body of this ingenious pendant luminaire. The slats, which increase in diameter from the inside to the outside, are movable and can be individually rotated on top of each other. The charm of this suspension lamp is found in the detail. Once shaped, the slats completely hide the central light source, but reflect the incoming light outwards through the interstices, creating an unprecedented play of light, perfectly glare-free, which will completely change the atmosphere of the room. Since the position of the individual slats is variable, the Moon pendant luminaire allows for a wide variety of lighting design. Like the moon, which continually changes shape in the night sky, Verner Panton's luminaire is a multi-faceted design object. The new edition of the Moon pendant luminaire features Verner Panton's signature on the innermost part of the ten slats.
